It's been a few days!
SURGERY UPDATE:
Paul is doing great! He's lost 56 lbs in the first 4 weeks and feels great! He said he loves losing the weight because the more he loses, the better he feels. He even coached Cailee's team last weekend. Can't wait for you all to see him, he just keep getting smaller and smaller. He has adjusted very well to the eating side of his new life. On Wednesday he finally got to eat normal (well almost) and had 3 oz of steak with 1 oz of salad. Up until Wednesday he had only been able to eat canned meats and deli meats and no raw vegetables. He had one week where he was very emotional. The dr. said it's normal because the body stores estrogen in fat and when the fat starts to go away it disperses the estrogen into the body....explains alot about us females when we try to lose weight....anyway he's doing much better with that too.
GRADUATION:
We just got Corey's graduation stuff so everyone watch your mail for invitations! In case they don't get there on time her graduation is on March 28th at 10:00am at the McKay Events center (UVU) please come if you can! She's very excited. We are going to take some pictures today and I'll get them posted for you all to see.
LONGBOARDING:
Corey, Ms. "trips over sunlight" decided to try longboarding. I don't know what possesses a person who trips over their own shadow to try such a thing but she did. She made it all the way to "The shack" with only one minor fall. Then I said good job but you still have to get home. Sure enough within about 2 blocks of "The shack" she ate it hard core, hurt her knee and couldn't finish the journey home so I took Cailee down and her and Megan finished the ride home on the longboards. We ended up back at the dr. the next day to have her knee looked at and luckily it looks like it's just sprained. The dr. said with all the swelling it's hard to tell.
TRINITIE BDAY:
On May 4th Trinitie turned 3! I cannot believe it, she's growing so fast! Channing had a huge birthday party for her. She had a big BBQ and got lots and lots of presents. Brandon and Channing got her a power wheels jeep. She loves driving it and taking her brother for rides. Although brother does not like taking rides....
SCOPE:
For those of you who haven't heard: Corey has only wanted to donate blood from the time she turned 17 and was able. Every time she could, she went. Well she has tried over 12 times in the last year to donate either blood or plasma and has only been successful once! Her iron is always too low. We finally took her into the dr. for some blood work and they found that she is anemic. I guess blood / iron cells are big when they are new and the older they get, the smaller they get. Well she has no old blood cells which means they are going somewhere. The dr. said she may have some internal bleeding! She went in on Monday and had her stomach scoped to look for bleeding ulcers etc. They said it looked good, nowhere they could see that she would be losing blood. So the dr. has her on Iron pills and said to come back in 3 months for another blood screening to see if her Iron is coming up. If not they may do a colonoscopy to check for bleeding that way or she may have to start going in for IV Iron transfusions! I know crazy huh?! We'll keep you posted.
SOFTBALL:
Cailee is back into softball full swing! YAHOO! We've really missed it. Their first tournament was May 1st & 2nd in Tooele. If you remember it was a crappy weekend weather wise. Anyway they played 2 games on Friday afternoon and got rained out Saturday. The remaining tournament was rescheduled for Saturday May 9th. So last Saturday we went back to Tooele to finish up. They played 4 games. The 1st game they won 15-0, 2nd game they lost 8-0 (all because of 1 bad inning), the 3rd game they won 6-4 and the 4th game they lost 5-2. We ended up in 6th place out of 14 teams so not too bad after not playing since November! Cailee played great! Only 1 passed ball when catching and she hit great, only struck out once. This weekend we are playing in Orem. On Monday we start our league games. We will play to games a week for league. We play every weekend in June! I'm excited to see how well they do. They really are a great group of girls with great coaches! I almost forgot......take a look at that sunburn! And yes I put 50 SPF sunscreen on her 3 times!
